Huge AEW Star Reveals Retirement Plans

Jon Moxley is enjoying a fantastic right in AEW right now, putting on fantastic matches with the likes of Eddie Kingston, MJF, Brian Cage and most recently Lance Archer on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

It seems like we are going to be able to see a lot of tremendous Jon Moxley matches and moments on Dynamite, as the former WWE Champion has revealed that he intends on wrestling into his 50s and retiring with AEW.

During a recent interview with the Reel Talkers podcast, the AEW World Champion spoke about his relationship with Tony Khan, and his desire to continue wrestling for another 16 years, at the very least:

“Yeah, it’s definitely. I’ve become great friends with Tony Kahn, who is a great dude and the most successful promoter outside of Vince in how many years. We’ve been able to create something as a team and to get through the challenge of this pandemic. I’m incredibly proud of everybody [in AEW].

“I’d like to wrestle till I’m in my 50’s, hopefully. Whatever that means? I don’t know. AEW in the United States, will definitely always be my home, I think. It’s just done so much for me and I’ve done everything I could to help build the brand and solidify it as a legit alternative and it’s vital to the wrestling industry that AEW be successful. I don’t see that changing ever. I have loyalty to the people who treat me well and they have treated me extremely well.”

Moxley has had some rather gruelling and brutal matches in AEW, most notably with Darby Allin, Joey Janela and Kenny Omega, the latter of which main evented Full Gear last year. It’ll be interesting to see if Moxley can wrestle for at least another 16 years while keeping up this style.
