Huge Change To AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament AEW

A huge update has emerged on the finals of the AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament, ahead of Full Gear.

Following the 2020 and 2021 tournaments concluding at their year’s respective Full Gear pay-per-views, it was initially expected that the finals of the 2022 tournament would take place at the November 19 show.

During the pre-Full Gear media call, AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that this will not be the case.

Khan revealed that the winner of the Ricky Starks vs Lance Archer quarterfinal bout set for Friday’s (November 18) Rampage will face Brian Cage in a semifinal match on the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show.

The winner of that bout will face Ethan Page in the tournament finals on next Wednesday’s (November 23) edition of Dynamite.

The Lance Archer vs Ricky Starks bout was moved due to Starks suffering a legitimate injury.

Ethan Page previously defeated Eddie Kingston and Bandido on route to the finals.

The tournament winner will become the #1 contender to the AEW World Championship.

It is expected that they will challenge for the gold on the Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite.

The title is currently held by Jon Moxley, but Moxley will defend the gold against MJF at Full Gear.
