Huge Fatal 4-Way Championship Match Announced For Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble is always one of the most anticipated shows on the WWE calendar, what with the ‘Road to WrestleMania’ beginning, and a very exciting signature match format to boot. However there’s something else people will (or should) be looking forward to this time around, and that’s how the cruiserweights will steal the show again.

On this week’s episode of 205 Live, the next Cruiserweight Championship match was announced, and boy is it a doozy. General Manager Drake Maverick revealed that at the Royal Rumble event in Phoenix, Arizona, current champion Buddy Murphy will defend his title against three others in a Fatal 4-Way.

The competitors in the match will be determined over the next two weeks of 205 Live shows in the following matches, with the winners qualifying for the championship match.

  • Kalisto vs Lio Rush (January 2nd)
  • Drew Gulak vs Tozawa (January 2nd)
  • Cedric Alexander vs Hideo Itami (January 9th)

Regardless of who qualifies for the match, there’s no doubt that the match will live up to the lofty expectations 205 Live matches have set. Despite it having strong competition with both Royal Rumble matches, it could still be match of the night. Even if it will inevitably be on the pre-show.

Who do you think will be qualifying for the match? Let us know in the comments, on Twitter or on Discord today!
