Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network opened with a huge announcement from GM William Regal and dual-champion Keith Lee.
Lee declared that to give other members of the roster fair chances, he’s relinquishing the North American Title and proceeding as only NXT Champion going forward.
Regal then added to this that over the next few weeks a series of three-way matches will be held on TV with the winners qualifying for a ladder match at TakeOver to determine the new champion.
The first of those matches took place tonight and saw Bronson Reed overcome Roderick Strong and Johnny Gargano to qualify.
