Last night, SmackDown Live hosted a live event in Vancouver, Canada. During the course of the show, the IIconics had the numbers advantage over Carmella before she was rescued by a babyface. Same old, same old, right? Not quite so.
Much to the surprise of the crowd in attendance, the one to make the save for Carmella was none other than former NXT Women’s Champion, Kairi Sane. The oddball team of Sane and Carmella then took on the IIconics in a tag match, with the babyfaces picking up the victory.
It’s doubtful at this point whether this means Kairi Sane will be joining the SmackDown roster anytime soon, but crazier things have happened. Having said that, Nikki Cross was touring with the blue brand for a while before making her debut, but she ended up on Raw instead.
Either way, any appearances by ‘The Pirate Princess’ are very much welcome. Perhaps she could start up a feud with Asuka on SmackDown for the Women’s Championship…a man can dream.
If she does end up making any sort of main roster appearance any time soon, let’s hope Cole doesn’t call her a yacht persona again. I don’t forget these kind of things. And now neither will you.
