Earlier this year, wrestling legend Paul Wight (formerly the Big Show) teased fans that he could be bringing back his Captain Insano gimmick from the cult classic movie, The Waterboy.
While nothing has yet come of this tease, it seems the appearance of Captain Insano could be happening tonight at AEW Grand Slam, after Tony Khan tweeted the below GIF.

Tony Khan later tweeted another (similar) Captain Insano-related GIF:

Speaking earlier this year, Paul Wight revealed the outfit for a Captain Insano appearance has been made, and “a lot” of prep work has gone into it.
“There’s already an outfit made, the whole nine yards. We’re doing a lot of prep work, and this will be my last hoorah so to speak.
“Let’s be honest – I don’t think this character is going to be a killer going out there trying to beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship. At this point, I think this character is just to have fun. We’ll see how it goes, but for me right now, this is just a chance to have fun with this character and be a bright spot on the show. We’ll see how I’m feeling, and we’ll see how everybody takes off with it.”
With AEW heading to New York for tonight’s Grand Slam show from Arthur Ashe Stadium, could this be the perfect time for Captain Insano’s AEW debut?
