A huge update has emerged on the status of Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WrestleMania Goes Hollywood (WrestleMania 39) event in April.
Recent reports had indicated that WWE had made offers to Austin for him to wrestle on the show after his outing last year against Kevin Owens was considered a big success.
It even seemed that Austin himself was on board with the idea of getting in the ring again.
However, for those of you hoping to see that, it sounds like bad news, as Dave Meltzer is reporting that Austin has turned down wrestling at WrestleMania this time around.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“As far as Austin goes, Steve might be at the show – I wouldn’t be surprised at all – he might do something on the show, but he did in fact turn down wrestling at the show.
“He was offered Lesnar, he was offered Roman Reigns, he could have named his opponent if he wanted to do it with anybody else.
“But he did not choose to wrestle on the show.”

This is a similar situation to The Rock who has informed WWE he won’t be wrestling, but the idea of him making an appearance in some capacity hasn’t been ruled out.
Oh Hell Yeah!!! Thanks to everyone. Safe travels home. RT @WWE: HERE'S TO YA!!! 🍻#WrestleMania @steveaustinBSR pic.twitter.com/fPHrL0Wqli
