Huge Update On AEW Cancelling Shows AEW

A huge update has emerged on AEW cancelling shows, following speculation about the future weekly episodes of Dark and Dark Elevation.

Speculation about Dark Elevation ending was fuelled by a Fite TV description advertising the April 24 ‘Best Of’ special as the final ever episode.

Per Andrew Zarian, both Dark and Dark Elevation will stop, due in part to AEW’s deal for the new ‘Collision’ show set to air on Saturdays.

Zarian wrote:

AEW Dark and Dark Elevation have ended for the time being.

This in part has to do with AEW signing a new deal for AEW Collision to air on Saturdays.

Part of the new deal is that AEW Wrestling content will exclusively air on WBD.

As of today, this doesn’t include ROH.

According to previous reports, the current plan is to present the new show as equal to Dynamite in terms of star power, presentation, etc.

There have been reports of a planned ‘brand split’ between Dynamite and the Saturday show, largely as a way to keep people separate if they have issues with each other.

According to Dave Meltzer, the Elite and Blackpool Combat Club will be staying on Dynamite, while Collision will be headed up by CM Punk, another major return/debut, FTR, and potentially Chris Jericho.

Andrew Zarian previously reported that the show will air on TNT on Saturdays during the 8-10 ET timeslot.

It is expected that the new show will be called Collision as AEW previously filed to trademark this term.
