Following reports that Callis’ role within IMPACT Wrestling was significantly changing, there has been a big update on Callis’ IMPACT status.
It was recently noticed that Don Callis had been removed as a Vice President on the IMPACT website. Subsequent reports stated that Callis’ role will be different moving forward.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has confirmed that Callis is no longer an executive in any capacity for Anthem Sports & Entertainment or IMPACT Wrestling. Callis may still make on-screen appearances for the promotion, as he’s still expected to act as Kenny Omega’s manager wherever he goes.
In recent months, Callis has made on-screen appearances with Omega for IMPACT and AEW. A previous report noted that Omega and Callis were only present for the first day of the recent IMPACT tapings.
Callis was announced at the promotion’s co-executive vice president in 2017 alongside Scott D’Amore. As per Fightful Select, D’Amore has been making most of the executive decisions for IMPACT recently.
IMPACT Wrestling has yet to comment on the reports that Callis is no longer working in his behind-the-scenes position, so make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for any confirmation on the matter.
