HUGE WWE Names Appear In Music Video

Move over Lou Albano in “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and CM Punk in that Frank Turner video, some more famous wrestlers have also turned their hand to starring in music videos.

Swedish metal band, Ghost – who dress like a combination of Goldust, The Undertaker, and Suicide from the TNA video game – released the video for their new song “Dance Macabre”, featuring several faces familiar to wrestling fans.

Alongside Metallica guitarist, Kirk Hammett, and MMA fighter and occasional pro wrestler, Josh Barnett, the video also features current NXT Champion Aleister Black and WWE legend Chris Jericho.

Black appears backstage at an NXT event shadow-boxing along to the music – because Aleister Black is even terrifying when he’s dancing – and Jericho is shown rocking out in front of a fancy fish tank because wrestlers are normal people who lead completely normal lives.

It’s obvious from Black’s entrance theme that he is a fan of this type of music and Jericho himself plays in a metal band – Fozzy – so it makes perfect sense that these two wrestlers would be chosen to feature in this video.

I would tell you whether or not the members of Ghost are wrestling fans, but the band’s gimmick is that their members remain anonymous. If I want to find out if they like wrestling or not, I’m going to need to challenge them to a mask vs hair match somewhere down the line.

It’s always fun to see wrestlers appear in a non-wrestling context and the fact that Jericho and Black are gaining extra exposure from this video is great for both men’s personal brands.

Who knows, maybe this could open the door for more current WWE wrestlers to appear in music videos: No Way Jose and his entourage could be backing dancers in the next Camila Cabello video. Elias could smash Ed Sheeran over the head with his own guitar. Maybe The New Day could finally get Kanye West to chill out and, failing that, we could always send in Braun Strowman.

What are your thoughts on Chris Jericho and Aleister Black’s appearances in this video? Which wrestlers do you want to see appear in a music video next? Let us know in the comments below or on our Twitter.
