It appears that the clock is now ticking on the career of WWE star AJ Styles, who has admitted in the last week that he is keen on retiring from in-ring competition, and that he will do so once his current WWE deal expires.
During an appearance on Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson’s podcast, Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks heavily hinted that they had talks with AJ over a potential move to AEW, and Styles has now confirmed this.
Unsurprisingly, Styles revealed the news on a Twitch stream, which seems to be his new way of telling everyone literally everything, especially things WWE wouldn’t want you to know.
“Yeah, there were talks,” Styles said. “Look, it’s a business. My contract in WWE was going to expire and there were talks happening.
“The Bucks are my buddies. We never discussed money or anything, but there were talks about coming in.
“Again, it’s all business.”
However, Styles decided to stick with WWE, and as previously mentioned, will likely end his career once his contract expires in around 3 years.
Do you think AJ should have jumped ship to AEW? Or is he better suited to WWE? Let us know in the comments.
