One of the most popular comedy acts in WWE history was Hurricane Helms. Helms was a mainstay of WWE in the early 2000s and often found himself surrounded by partners.
Helms aligned himself with Molly Holly (AKA Mighty Molly) and Rosey (AKA Matt Anoa’i) during his time in WWE but now he has revealed another WWE star he wanted to be his partner. On Twitter, Hurricane Helms revealed that he pitched for Mike Awesome to be part of his crew. Here is the tweet:
I once pitched for Mike Awesome to be a member of The Hurri-League. My idea was that I’d constantly refer to him as Captain Awesome, which would drive him crazy until he eventually either went along with it or just completely snapped. 😁🤷🏻♂️ pic.twitter.com/aFW23MfsiD

Mike Awesome did not spend a very long time with WWE after The Invasion. He arrived in 2001 and was gone by the end of 2002 but did return for a one-off appearance at One Night Stand 2005. Awesome passed away in 2007 at the age of 42.
