Never one to shy away from his feelings, Randy Orton has become the first member of the active WWE roster to comment on the controversial upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
The Viper spoke to TMZ, telling them:
“I think we should go. I think the only way to help with change over there is to go and not to cancel the trip.”
[The WWE women] performed in Abu Dhabi not too long ago, and I think we’ll be there eventually with [Saudi Arabia] and Crown Jewel.
That’s the goal is to make things better everywhere and I think us not going—it doesn’t help. Going helps.”
His comments are what you would expect, echoing what JBL said recently and generally towing the corporate line.
Randy, however, is apparently in the minority. While nobody will come out and say it publicly, many of the roster are concerned about the prospect of travelling to Saudi Arabia.
Although pressure has been mounting on WWE to pull out of the event, all indications are that it will go ahead as planned regardless of the negative PR that comes the company’s way.
