Seth Rollins has issued a grandstand challenge to IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega, according to a report on WrestleZone.
Rollins, along with several WWE talent, is at the ACE Comic Con in Chicago, meeting fans and answering questions. In response to a question about who from outside of WWE he would like to wrestle, he playfully answered:
“I would like to face Kenny Omega. I am the best wrestler in the world, and would like to prove that.”
The answer was a very popular one with the audience, who loudly cheered in response.
Although it seems unlikely that a match between the two could happen anytime soon, it is perhaps not as impossible as it appears on the surface.
New Japan is apparently going through turmoil behind the scenes and it is well known that Omega’s contract is coming up for renewal shortly.
Rollins and Omega have only met once before, battling in what would today be a dream three-way alongside Daniel Bryan in Canada at ROH Bound By Hate in 2008.
