The identity of the fake Randy Orton who showed up towards the end of the pre-Backlash episode of WWE SmackDown has been revealed.
The last segment of last night’s SmackDown in Dayton, Ohio saw Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena appear in the ring to build up his title match against Randy Orton at Backlash.
At the end of the segment, a hooded figure wearing a balaclava appeared behind Cena and attempted to RKO him, before Cena countered and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment.
The real Orton then showed up and did RKO Cena, standing tall above him with the title belt to end the show.
The fake Orton who appeared before the real one showed up was NXT star Shawn Spears.
A glimpse at his face, plus the tattoos are a match with Spears, and it explains why he was wearing black tape around the bottom half of his forearms, as his sleeve tattoos don’t go down that far like Orton’s do, so the bare skin was being covered up.
Spears is the leader of The Culling group in WWE NXT, where he’s joined by Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance and Izzi Dame.
