After he was released by WWE last year, Karl Anderson had teased a return to New Japan Pro Wrestling. If the pandemic was not a factor, it is entirely possible that he may have made his way there already.
However, Anderson and Gallows instead have found their way to Impact Wrestling. In their new promotion, they are the Impact World Tag Team Champions and a key part of Impact’s relationship with AEW.
Now, Anderson has posted a tweet once again teasing a return to New Japan. Responding to a clip of himself wrestling Hiroshi Tanahashi, Anderson mentioned that he might see New Japan soon. Here is the tweet:
That’s how you counter a fuckin #SlingBlade babes…..
Also how you get a crowd in Hiroshima, Japan to #PopForTheBoys
Miss you 🇯🇵
Maybe, see you soon @njpw1972 #TooFuckinSweet https://t.co/1NLzEr7qpe— Karl Anderson (@MachineGunKA) January 19, 2021
Karl Anderson was a long-time member of the New Japan roster as well as being a founding member of Bullet Club. He and Doc Gallows both left New Japan to join WWE back in 2016. They remained with the company until last year when they were both released on Black Wednesday.
Anderson and Gallows made their in-ring debut for AEW last week, teaming with Kenny Omega to defeat Danny Limelight, Griff Garrison, and Brian Pillman Jr.
