IMPACT Wrestling was forced to change the finish to a major match at Bound for Glory last night due to an injury suffered during the bout.
As per PWInsider, Heath – who was injured soon after entering the Call Your Shot gauntlet match and later hospitalised – was actually supposed to win the gauntlet last night to earn a contract with the promotion, which had been the storyline going into it.
Luckily, Heath’s tag team partner Rhino was still in the match, so an audible was called to have Rhino win instead and Heath would get his contract that way.
Originally, Heath was scheduled to go over Sami Callihan last who would have been the runner-up. Callihan did still come in second, just losing out to Rhino instead of Heath.
Of course that wasn’t the only big change IMPACT had to make to Bound For Glory. Kylie Rae wasn’t able to be on the show due to an injury so Su Yung took her place in challenging Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Title, and was actually successful in doing so.
The show also saw the promotion’s World Championship change hands, with Rich Swann defeating Eric Young in the main event.
