Impact Champion Names Dream Opponents Impact Wrestling

An Impact Wrestling Champion has named their choice of dream opponents that they’d like to face, including a current WWE name.

Josh Alexander is the longest-reigning Impact World Champion after defeating Moose in April 2022.

In an interview with Sportskeeda’s Max Everett, Alexander spoke about his path in wrestling, saying:

“I’m a wrestling fan before I’m a pro wrestler.

“I would have never gone down this path and punished myself if I hadn’t had a passion and love for it to begin with.”

He would then go onto speak about his dream opponents, adding:

“I would love to face Shingo [Takagi] while he’s still in his prime. [Kazuchika] Okada as well.”

Shingo and Okada are both currently signed with NJPW.

With a co-produced Impact Wrestling and NJPW show in the works, this may be a possibility in the future, if not on the March 30 show.

Alexander would then name the WWE wrestler he would like to face, and it’s a name familiar to old-school TNA fans, saying:

“WWE, if you think of TNA, I think the first name that pops into your head is A.J. Styles.”

Styles was signed to TNA from 2002 to 2014 and was a three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion and two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

He would also name WWE Hall of Famer and former six-time TNA Word Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle as another dream opponent, saying it wouldn’t matter if it was a win or loss for Alexander.
