Major Title Change At Latest Impact Wrestling Taping IMPACT Wrestling

At IMPACT Wrestling Winter Warfare, a pre-taped show, a major title changed hands, leading the new champions to become double champions.

On the December 20 episode, Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated the team of Heath & Rhino to become three-time champions.

Having clashed on the previous episode of IMPACT Wrestling, that match was declared a no-contest following interference from Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, collectively The Major Players.

Now, with that team banned from ringside, the match took place under more sporting circumstances.

With this victory, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are not only the IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champions for the third time, but also the current New Japan Pro-Wrestling Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions.

The NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship was introduced in June 2022.

It is featured on NJPW Strong has was previously held by Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis).

Aussie Open were the inaugural champions, having defeated Christopher Daniels & Yuya Uemura in the finals of the championship tournament.

Motor City Machine Guns defeated Aussie Open to win the championship at Rumble on 44th Street in October 2022.

Shelley & Sabin have previously held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
