Yesterday Impact Wrestling came to terms on the releases of Joey Ryan and Dave Crist, as well as the suspension of Michael Elgin. This came after numerous allegations of sexual abuse emerged in the midst of the #SpeakingOut movement.
Now, PWInsider is reporting that the promotion has removed Ryan’s match from tonight’s episode of Impact TV. Here is the quote from their report:
“PWInsider.com can also confirm that Impact’s production team was working all day to remove Ryan from tomorrow’s episode of Impact on AXS. The Cancel Culture vs. Crazy Steve & mystery partners match, which was slated to be the first match on tomorrow’s broadcast, will not air. Ryan has been accused in multiple cases of alleged sexual harassment and assault and has disappeared from social media.”
Impact will need to evaluate the status of Michael Elgin as he was scheduled to be part of the Slammiversary main event prior to his suspension. If his suspension proves to be lengthy he may need to be removed from the event. He had been scheduled to challenge Tessa Blanchard for the Impact World Championship in a four-way match.
