IMPACT Results and Review: Final Hour

Moose defeats Eddie Edwards

I have really hated this feud.  Period.  Eddie Edwards as a lunatic is just not something I’m buying into.  Moose has found some charisma as a heel and that’s a good thing, but the storyline is a bit contrived.  Why would this Flashy, Moose Money character kidnap somebody’s wife.  If he’s going to do that, wouldn’t he use his psychopath counterpart, Killer Cross?

The match started slow.  However, it picked up pace towards the end.  Eddie’s wife came out to check on him during the match after a nasty power bomb onto the ramp.

Because the crowd was pretty quiet, you could actually hear the pretty loud bump Eddie took.  Moose ends up hitting the spear for the win.  I’m hoping Moose and Eddie are done and Moose can move on from this feud.  Looking at the roster though, I’m not sure where he goes next.

Let me talk to ya…

Eli Drake and Joseph Parks come out next.  Drake has been threatening lawsuits for unsafe working environments since Bound for Glory where Abyss choke slammed him through a table. Drake has charisma.  He calls himself the last of a dying breed.  He considers himself a larger than life character who beats people up with his fists and his words.  I still believe with the right program that motivates Eli, he can be really, really good.

He seemed motivated tonight.  As a result, tonight was pretty good.  When Drake hired Park last week, I was worried where this was headed.  Everybody knows, Parks is Abyss.  If they pretended not to, then this would have just been silly.  However, Drake takes out Park.

Surprisingly, this paid off on what appeared to be a throw-away angle on BFG.  I assume we’re going to get Abyss and Drake.  Hopefully, IMPACT does the smart thing and puts over Drake.  Given the make-up of the IMPACT Roster, The Last of a Dying Breed moniker could be a great thing for Drake.
