An IMPACT Wrestling star has revealed that he’s injured and will be out of action for at least six months.
Eric Young has recently discussed his absence from wrestling. Unfortunately, the former TNA Champion has picked up an injury and won’t be competing for the foreseeable future.
On Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Young revealed that during the last set of TV tapings, he tore his ACL. Not used to being injured, Young explained that he has to have surgery before he is able to even think about his return to the ring.
Here is the full quote:
“I was telling Petey (Williams) this, at the last tapings I tore my ACL. It’s the first time I’ve ever been injured. I missed my first wrestling show this Friday that I was booked on in 24 years of doing it. So, it’s frustrating man.
“I’ve never been injured. I’ve been hurt lots, but I’ve never been injured. I have to have surgery in like a week and a half and it’s going to be a long, long road. So, we’ll see man. It’s going to get real interesting for me.”
Young would go on to acknowledge that recovery time for a torn ACL is usually around 6-9 months. Setting himself a personal target, Young aims to be back wrestling in 6 months time.
Young hasn’t competed since his January match against Rhino. He is currently unsure whether he will appear on IMPACT TV while waiting to be cleared to wrestle.
