IMPACT Star Tells AEW To Stop ‘S**tting On Itself’

A WWE legend has taken shots at AEW after their latest appearance on IMPACT, telling the company not to ‘s**t on itself’.

Since the start of AEW and IMPACT Wrestling’s partnership, Tony Khan has appeared frequently on IMPACT TV. His segments are always “paid advertisements” for AEW so the cocky character can belittle IMPACT as much as he wants during their own airtime.

On the most recent episode of IMPACT, Khan’s advertisement saw him surrounded by some top AEW stars. They would laugh and jeer as Khan belittled IMPACT’s star power, telling people to tune into AEW Dynamite to watch a “real wrestling television show”.

IMPACT would also share this advertisement later on Twitter:

ECW and WWE legend Tommy Dreamer thought this segment did more damage than good for both promotions. Noting that wrestling promos work best when building your opponent as a threat, Dreamer didn’t understand why AEW took the cocky approach.

Pointing out that a lot of AEW stars cut their teeth in IMPACT, Dreamer explained that taking a shot at IMPACT is taking a shot at yourself… in slightly different words.

Dreamer retweeted this segment to give his opinion, saying:

Promo lesson 101 build the person you are talking about UP if you win or lose you have beaten or lost to someone special. When more than half your staff worked @IMPACTWRESTLING, don’t s**t on the place that helped them because ur basically s**tting on yourself #fact #IMPACTonAXSTV”

Brian Cage and Matt Hardy were the most notable IMPACT alumni that featured in Khan’s promo package. With both stars at one point holding the Impact World Championship, they arguably wouldn’t be in AEW today if it wasn’t for success in IMPACT.

On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that Miro and Kip Sabian will face Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor at AEW Revolution 2021.
