Speculation has been mounting that Rob Gronkowski, who retired from the NFL earlier this week, could be on his way to WWE, and Impact star Moose has added his input in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
Moose reckons Gronk will wrestle for WWE, but not on a permanent basis:
“I think Gronk’s going to sign with WWE, but he’s not going to make it his next career.
“He can have a big match at WrestleMania or SummerSlam, but I know Gronk. People need to understand that his body has been through hell. Gronk can’t make this a career, but he can have a couple great matches.”
He also compared Rob Gronkowski to Ronda Rousey, saying that Gronk’s body is more beaten up than Rousey’s was when she started with WWE, putting him at a disadvantage:
“Ronda is a legend, but she didn’t fight as long as Gronk played in the NFL, and the NFL is way more taxing on your body than UFC.
“The surgeries in the NFL really add up, and Gronk has had so many, even back surgery. Guys have been targeting his lower body for years, so think of the damage that did to his knees.”
