IMPACT Wrestling Books Huge Intergender Title Match For Bound For Glory

Tonight on IMPACT Wrestling, the final card for Bound for Glory seems to have taken shape. Several huge title matches have been made official for the upcoming pay-per-view.

Eric Young and Rich Swann were destined to meet at BFG and with Young’s successful defense at Victory Road, the match is officially on. In similar fashion, Deonna Purrazzo and Kylie Ray are officially set to meet at Bound For Glory.

However, the biggest news coming out of tonight is who will be challenging for the X-Division Championship. Rohit Raju is set to defend his X-Division Championship in a 6-person match.

IMPACT which made headlines in 2019 for becoming the first major promotion with a television deal to crown a woman as the main champion. Tessa Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan and held the title until unceremoniously leaving the company during the COVID pandemic.

The company is back at it again announcing Jordynne Grace will be one of the six competitors to challenge Raju. Also appearing in the match will be Willie Mack, TJP, Trey Miguel, and Chris Bey.

Fans thought Grace would be heading into the event as the champion after she successfully answered Raju’s open challenge on tonight’s show. However, Raju revealed the open challenge was a non-title match.

As a result of her victory, Grace will get her shot in the 6 way match. Grace recently lost the Knockouts Title to Purrazzo. Could we see another title thought to be a men’s championship soon be around a woman’s waist?

Only time will tell. Also previously announced for the show is a 4-way bout for the Tag Team Championships, where it will be the Motor City Machine Guns vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton vs. Good Brothers vs. The North.

Speaking of The Good Brothers, they have a much more important tag team championship bout coming up next Wednesday. Check out the announcement here.
