‘Incident With Carmella’ Led To Cass’ Release

Ever since Big Cass was suddenly released from WWE last Tuesday (June 19), speculation has run wild as to the reasons for his contract termination.

There were suggestions that Cass had built up a lot of backstage heat due to his behaviour when drinking on the European tour, and going against Vince McMahon and the script by attacking a little person dressed as Daniel Bryan has not gone down well.

But now, WrestlingNews.co are reporting a “well-placed source” has said there may well have been another reason just hours before he was sacked that was the final straw for WWE management.

According to the source, Cass confronted WWE Superstar and former girlfriend Carmella backstage in an attempt to reconcile and sort out their difference.

Carmella allegedly wanted nothing to do with him and made to walk away, but Cass grabbed her arm to stop her.

The led to other wrestlers, including The Usos and Eric Rowan, stepping in to lead Cass away.

News of this incident seems to have made its way to Vince McMahon and the decision was made there and then that Cass had finally gone too far and he was released.

The unpleasant end to his time at the company could well have caused the omission of the “we wish him well in his future endeavours” from the release statement on WWE.com

Do of course take this with a pinch of salt as nothing has yet been confirmed.
