An independent star has been invited to a tryout with WWE, announcing the news on social media.
UPDATE: Nikki Blackheart, Valentina Rossi, Promise Braxton, Fallyn Grey, Ricky South, Scott Green, The Tuckman, Zoe Sager and Notorious Mimi (who was previously signed to NXT as Sloane Jacobs) have also confirmed their WWE tryout invites.
21-year-old Airica Demia, who has been making a name for herself on the United States independent scene for promotions such as Beyond Wrestling, Dreamwave and Pro Wrestling Turbo, took to Twitter today to announce that she’s been invited for a tryout with WWE.
Describing the tryout as an “opportunity of a lifetime”, Demia wrote:
Time to make my dreams become a reality!
This is all I have ever wanted since I stepped foot in a wrestling ring at the age of 14.
Now at 21 years old…this anime girl is ready for the opportunity of a life time.
@WWERecruit Notice Me.
While she’s yet to compete in the company, Demia did get several opportunities to win the WWE ID Women’s Championship.
After inaugural champion Kylie Rae vacated the title in September last year, Demia took part in a six-way to crown a new champion two months later in Beyond Wrestling.
Demia was unsuccessful in her challenge however, as Laynie Luck became the second WWE ID Women’s Champion. Demia did get another opportunity to win the title at House of Champions’ ID Showcase Battle of Champions event, but lost to Laynie Luck once again, this time in a singles match.
We will provide updates on the upcoming WWE tryouts and any potential new signings as they become available.
