With WWE set to hold tryouts this coming week, two independent stars have confirmed that they’ve been invited to attend.
With a former basketball player, MMA fighter and United States marine already confirmed to be attending, an independent wrestling standout has now confirmed that they too will be undergoing a tryout with WWE this coming week.
Starboy Charlie, who has been making a name for himself all over the world for promotions such as GCW, Pro Wrestling NOAH and West Coast Pro Wrestling, took to his Instagram Stories to confirm his invite to tryout for WWE.
Stating that he was set to “chase his dreams”, Charlie wrote:
brb going to go chase my dreams rq @wwerecruit
As well as competing on the independent scene, Charlie has also wrestled three matches for AEW, with his most recent bout seeing him make up one third of a trios team against The Opps on the March 5, 2025 episode of AEW Collision.
Another independent wrestler name confirmed to be attending the WWE tryout is Jimmy House.
House has been competing on the independent scene since 2023, and recently made his ROH debut on the November 8 ROH TV taping.
He also has experience as a strength and conditioning coach, working with the likes of Goldberg, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Saints among many others.
Announcing the news on Twitter, House wrote:
Thank you for this incredible opportunity @WWE @WWERecruit.
Tomorrow I get to live out my dream for 5 days in Orlando, Florida at the Performance Center
To all of you who have been so kind to support me so relentlessly this early into my wrestling journey thank you. I wouldn’t be here without you.
WWE made several signings from the European independent scene in 2025 following a set of tryouts in the United Kingdom, including Elio LaFleur, who’s debut on NXT was teased at New Year’s Evil on January 6.
