Injured AEW Star Returns On Collision

Injured AEW Star Returns On Collision AEW

An injured AEW star made their return following a seven month absence during tonight’s AEW Collision Homecoming (October 11).

This week’s AEW Collision opened with a one-on-one match between The Don Callis Family’s Josh Alexander and Kota Ibushi.

The bout was expectedly evenly contested, however, saw an abrupt end as Kota Ibushi suffered an injury after selling to the outside of the ring while Alexander was attempting a fireman’s carry on the top rope.

After Ibushi was counted out due to the injury, long-absent AEW star, and Don Callis Family member Mark Davis made his surprise return to television, attacking Ibushi as he was being tended to by AEW’s medical personnel.

Davis’ attempts to deal more punishment were interrupted by Ibushi’s Golden Lovers teammate Kenny Omega however, who rushed the ring to drive The Don Callis Family away from Ibushi.

Davis’ appearance comes seven months after his last match on AEW TV, which came on the March 26 episode of AEW Dynamite against Powerhouse Hobbs, and it was during that match that the Australian star reportedly suffered his injury that left him sidelined until this week.

As confirmed by Tony Khan on Twitter, Davis’ return to in-ring action will come on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite & Collision three hour special on October 15, as he teams with Alexander and Hechicero to take on the team of Jurassic Express and Kenny Omega.
