Following a month on the sidelines with an undisclosed injury, former indy standout Keith Lee returned to action last night at an NXT house show in Lakeland, Florida.
Lee joined forces with the eclectic team of Babatunde Aiyegbusi and KUSHIDA to defeat Undisputed Era trio of Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly.
The bout was Lee’s first since a house show victory over British former rugby star Luke Menzies in early March. He had also been building to a feud with Dominic Dijakovic, with whom he had a Dave Meltzer five-star-rated match at PWG’s Battle Of Los Angeles tournament in 2017.
That rivalry is expected to be renewed now that Lee is back in action having at one point seemingly being on the cards for the most recent TakeOver event over WrestleMania weekend.
Neither Lee nor Dijakovic has appeared on a TakeOver event in their time with the promotion but following a number of call-ups to the main roster from the NXT brand, both will be hoping to change that at the upcoming TakeOver event in June.
