A new update has come to light on the status of Robert Roode, who hasn’t wrestled on WWE TV since the beginning of April.
Roode hasn’t wrestled at all since a non-televised house show in June, and he revealed in September that he’d undergone a medical procedure at Southlake Orthopaedics in Birmingham, Alabama.
According to PWInsider, Roode was spotted back in Birmingham yesterday (November 9), and the “hope” is that he’ll be making a return to the ring “soon”.
The report states that WWE has talked about bringing Roode back on SmackDown, which would split up his tag team with Dolph Ziggler unless Ziggler is moved over too.
Roode was pushed as NXT Champion when Paul Levesque (Triple H) was booking NXT, but he’s never hit the same heights on the main roster.
With Levesque now at the helm(sley) and a chance for a fresh start, perhaps we could see Roode elevated more than he was under Vince McMahon.
Roode has been a US Champion and a three-time Tag Team Champion, but many believe he’s capable and worthy of going beyond that level.
