An injured WWE star’s return has been confirmed ahead of tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Greenville, South Carolina (May 19).
Having been out of action since December 2024 after undergoing surgery for a torn ligament in her thumb, WWE have now confirmed that Kairi Sane is back for tonight’s episode of Raw.
Posting a short video of Sane arriving in Greenville ahead of the show, WWE wrote:
Woah! @KAIRI_official is here in Greenville ahead of #WWERaw
WWE would then follow up with an announcement from Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, confirming that Sane will be returning to in-ring action on tonight’s episode.
As can be seen in Pearce’s announcement down below, Sane will take on Rhea Ripley and Zoey Stark in a Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match, with Pearce also announcing Roxanne Perez vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya in another qualifier.
With Asuka and Sane out injured and Dakota Kai being released from WWE earlier this month, the status of Damage CTRL has been the subject of speculation among fans, with just Women’s World Champion IYO SKY consistently representing the group.
Following Kai’s release it had been reported that Damage CTRL was considered “done” within WWE, however, it remains to be seen whether that will in fact be the case when Sane returns to TV tonight.
Sane’s Kabuki Warriors teammate Asuka has not competed since WWE Backlash 2024 in May 2024 due to a knee injury, with the most recent update on her status coming in March, where it was reported that she was expected to be out for several more months.
