Over the past few weeks on WWE Raw, Ivar of the Viking Raiders has found himself getting a singles push, with him picking up a win over Kofi Kingston in a Viking Rules match.
Following the match, there was said to be a lot of praise on the work of both Kingston and Ivar in the bout.
Ivar’s singles run was seemingly continued on last night’s episode of Raw (October 23), with Valhalla branding him the ‘one true warrior’.
This has led to a lot of speculation on the status of Erik, as Ivar getting a singles run would imply that his injury will keep him out of action for an extended period of time.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), that does indeed seem to be the case, as they were told to not expect Erik back ‘any time soon’.
Also per Fightful, on top of higher ups in the company, numerous talents praised Ivar after the report of backstage praise for him and Kofi came out.
Specifically, he was praised for his in-ring work, as well as his demeaner outside the ring in spite of ‘less than stellar’ booking for years.
