WWE has confirmed that Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Roman Reigns on tomorrow’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown.
This match announcement came out of the blue, especially considering Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura are currently not feuding on TV.

With WWE Champion Brock Lesnar unlikely to be working a full schedule on Smackdown moving forward, perhaps WWE are going to put the Intercontinental title on Reigns to help make the belt feel like a bigger deal.
This week on Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura was announced as the third member of Team Flair for the ten-man tag team match at Crown Jewel.
Perhaps this match will be a way for WWE to insert Roman Reigns into the Saudi Arabia match as a member of Team Hogan.
