Intercontinental Title #1 Contenders Match Set For WWE SmackDown

An Intercontinental Championship #1 contenders match has been added to the October 14 edition of SmackDown.

On the show, Sheamus, Ricochet, Karrion Kross and Solo Sikoa will face off in fourway action, with the winner earning themselves a shot at GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title.

Sheamus was the last star to challenge for the gold, losing to GUNTHER in a controversial manner on the October 7 edition of SmackDown.

Karrion Kross heads into SmackDown with momentum following his strap match victory over Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules.

Following his main roster debut in September, Solo Sikoa returned to NXT to win the North American Title, but was forced to relinquish the belt as he wasn’t originally sanctioned for the bout in which he won the gold.

Ricochet notably challenged for the North American Title at NXT Worlds Collide, but came up short against then-champion Carmelo Hayes.

Here’s the announced lineup for Friday’s episode of SmackDown:

• Sheamus vs. Ricochet vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Karrion Kross – Intercontinental Championship #1 Contenders
• Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn
• LA Knight vs. månsôör
• Bray Wyatt To Appear
