Intercontinental Title Match Announced For SmackDown Tonight

WWE have announced that championship gold will be on the line in a match tonight on Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

Apollo Crews is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship tonight. This will be his first title defence since his WrestleMania 37 victory.

WWE shared the match announcement on Twitter, wondering who will oppose the Nigerian star’s reign of dominance. Promoting the SmackDown match, WWE tweeted:

Apollo Crews defeated Big E for the Intercontinental Championship in their WrestleMania Nigerian Drum Fight. Crews was assisted in the match by a returning Dabba-Kato, now known as Commander Azeez.

This match will give an indication as to the future of the IC Title. While we could witness Big E’s retaliation, the bout could mark the beginning of a new rivalry.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair are also being advertised for the show.
