Several upcoming episodes of AEW Dynamite have been rescheduled due to the NBA, but there’s a good reason why they’re on Fridays.
As Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is looking to condition its audience to get used to that 10pm ET Friday timeslot, because that’s when the new weekly Rampage show will air starting in August.
Meltzer explained:
“This is actually one of the reasons why the preemption stuff has been moved to Friday at 10 is to help familiarize people for that timeslot. So, that is actually part of the reason for not running it on Thursday or not running it on Saturday. It’s to get the Friday night thing going.”
Dynamite will air at 10pm ET on Fridays May 28 and June 4.
Meltzer did also say that there’ll be a Saturday episode of Dynamite later on in June as well as the two aforementioned shows that have been put on the Fridays.
