An interesting stat has emerged regarding championship matches that took place at WWE SummerSlam 2022.

Five WWE titles were defended during the July 30 premium live event, with none of gold changing hands on the show.

As pointed out by Wrestling Stats & Info on Twitter, this year’s show was the first to have 0 title changes throughout the entire SummerSlam broadcast since SummerSlam 2007.

SummerSlam 2012 had no title changes during the main card, however the US Championship changed hands during the pre-show, with Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) winning the gold from Santino Marella (Anthony Carelli).

The Usos made SummerSlam history during this year’s event, becoming the first team to defend a tag title on the main cards of two consecutive SummerSlam events. They notably defeated the Street Profits to retain their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
