An update has been provided on the condition of Io Shirai who endured a very nasty-looking ladder spot at NXT Halloween Havoc last night.
Somehow no-one seemed to get seriously hurt during the match, but Shirai came closest to disaster when she was pushed off a ladder in the ring onto another ladder on the outside by Indi Hartwell (see the video at the end of this story).
It looked like Shirai could have been injured during the spot as she had a pretty gnarly landing on the outside ladder, but the latest update from PWInsider is a promising one.
The site is reporting that Io Shirai was “okay backstage after the match”, which is obviously great news.
The match was won by Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne of Toxic Attraction, who won their first NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship from defending champions Shirai and Zoey Stark, and the third team which was Hartwell and Persia Pirotta.
Toxic Attraction leader Mandy Rose went on to beat Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship later in the show after a returning Dakota Kai cost Gonzalez the match.
