An update has emerged on the upcoming ‘Iron Claw’ movie, based on the life of Kevin Von Erich and the legendary Von Erich family.
Following updates on the cast and production of the film, we now know when The Iron Claw will be hitting theaters.
Per Variety, the movie will arrive in theaters in the US just in time for Christmas, on December 22.
It was also reported that the movie isn’t expected to debut at any festivals ahead of then, as the project is currently in post-production.
Chavo Guerrero worked as the wrestling coordinator for the Iron Claw, and previously stated that the film will be ‘Oscar-worthy‘.
The December release date may indicate that A24 also believes that it will be an awards contender, with the movie dropping in prime awards season, when studios tend to drop movies that they believe will be in contention for major awards like the Oscars.
The A24 movie will star Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich, with the likes of Jeremy Allen White and Lily James set to appear in the project.
Several wrestling names will also be in the movie, including AEW World Champion MJF, who will star as Lance Von Erich.
Zac Efron has been front and center for the film’s marketing so far, with the lead actor bulking up for the role.
Jeremy Allen White, set to play Kerry Von Erich, previously noted that he gained 40 pounds of muscle ahead of filming.
