Surely not? Could Samoa Joe be setting himself up for a shock babyface turn after the events on last night’s Raw?
For those who haven’t seen, Joe came out to the ring to demand an apology from Roman Reigns for suspecting him as the culprit of last week’s attack. Joe then heard that Roman was arriving at the building, so said he would go and get the apology himself.
As Joe was approaching Roman, a silver car came outta nowhere to ram into Roman’s car. You can check out what happened below.
While this is all very interesting, it was the moments after the attack that have really sparked the interests of fans.
Joe, completely out of character, shows real concern for Roman’s safety, urging (sorry Lance) Roman to stay down and not move while making sure the door was properly open to give paramedics access to Roman.
Could this be a way to introduce Joe as a babyface? While his heel character was scary, he never actually won anything, so perhaps a new character is what he needs.
It would be a very Paul Heyman way of turning someone face too. When the person seems to be as deep in their heel character as possible, they turn.
Aligning himself with Roman in some kind of Samoan double act would be a sure fire way of keeping Joe in the main event picture too, so there are plenty of reasons why WWE would want to pull this trigger on a turn.
