A lot of speculation has been circling the internet around whether current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will remain in WWE when his contract expires or if he will return to UFC to fight in the octagon.
UFC President Dana White recently appeared on Fox Sports‘ UFC Tonight show to promote UFC 223 and was asked about the ‘Beast’ possibly returning to the octagon to which White replied:
“Brock Lesnar’s coming back. I don’t know when but yes he is.”
It is no secret that Lesnar’s current WWE contract expires after WrestleMania 34 this Sunday – his contracted “house show” appearances have already ended. At the ‘Show of Shows’, he’ll take on Roman Reigns and, by all accounts, most likely drop WWE Universal Championship to the ‘Big Dog’ by the time the night is done.
Lesnar could always fight inside the octagon while under a WWE contract, however, like he did back in July 2016, when he fought Mark Hunt. That win was later overturned to a no contest due to failed drug tests related to the fight.
As it stands, however, all signs do point to Lesnar returning to UFC and continuing his career in MMA.
