WWE’s IYO SKY Names Her Favorite Match She’s Wrestled In WWE

Former WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY has named a WWE match from this year as her favorite match she’s competed in.

While IYO SKY has been wrestling for 18 years, many fans believe that she has been doing her best work over the past year, with SKY notably holding the WWE Women’s World Championship earlier this year.

She defended this title against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41, in a match which has received heavy praise from fans.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, IYO SKY noted that she thinks this bout is now an all-time fave, stating:

“I think so, yes. I have a lot of favorite matches, but that one is totally special to my life.

“It meant so much to me, of course. It also meant so much to Japanese people as well, because for a long time Japanese wrestlers didn’t win at WrestleMania.

“Even for Japanese women’s wrestlers, (this was) a first time ever in WWE, to win at WrestleMania. I’m so honored, it was even kind of unexpected, to walk in as champion and walk out as a champion.

“Also, my family was there, my parents were crying when I got the three-count. I saw the video, it makes me cry as well.”

When asked about the backstage reaction to this match, SKY responded:

“Of course, Bianca Belair, of course, Rhea Ripley, I’m so honored to be there with them.”
