As was widely reported at the start of 2022, a number of AEW contracts will be expiring in the coming weeks, so we may be seeing a number of stars announcing their departure from the promotion.
One person we know will not be re-signing with AEW is Jack Evans, who announced on Twitter yesterday that he would not be staying with AEW once his contract expires at the end of April.
My time with #AEW has been a fun and enjoyable but it has come to an end as I will not be re-signed when my contract ends at the end of April. I’d like to thank everyone at AEW and the AEW fans for the opportunity.

Most fans were very accepting of his impending departure, and wished him all the best for the future. However there were those who immediately started insulting AEW for not re-signing him.
Interestingly, Evans immediately came to the support of AEW, and explained it’s just how the wrestling business works.
Nah it is part of the business. Not to diss myself but I wasnt giving any added value to the company truthfully and with a big roster you do gotta make cuts. https://t.co/OcDAFPY5Jg

Since being formed, AEW has only released a handful of stars, but it could be that this number increases in the coming weeks. We’ll keep you updated with any releases as soon as they happen.
