Jack Perry First Feud Since CM Punk AEW Incident Revealed? NJPW/WWE

Jack Perry’s first opponent since his hiatus following the incident in AEW involving WWE star CM Punk may have been revealed.

AEW star Perry showed up at Saturday’s (January 13) NJPW Battle in the Valley event to attack Shota Umino.

Perry tore up what appeared to be his AEW contract while in the ring and then donned a black armband that read ‘SCAPEGOAT’.

While it was previously unclear whether Umino was targeted, or if Perry just used him to make an example, the rising NJPW star has now shared a message for Perry.

NJPW has shared a video of Umino following the attack, which you can watch below.

In the clip, Umino said:

(In Japanese) “Boy, you got this all wrong, a stupid punk kid. You think tearing up your contract and slide right into Japan? Jungle Boy, anytime, anywhere.

“I don’t care if it’s in AEW or a ring in Japan.

(In English) “Anytime, anywhere I beat you, bitch.”

Umino is notably viewed as a protege of AEW’s Jon Moxley, which has led to speculation that a Jack Perry vs Jon Moxley rivalry could be on the cards for the future.

Moxley recently issued a challenge to a major NJPW star for April, which you can read about at this link.

Since we last saw Jack Perry in AEW, CM Punk was fired from AEW and then re-hired by WWE, with Punk making his WWE return at Survivor Series in November.

A top WWE star has now fired shots at CM Punk, which you can read more about right here.
