Jacob Fatu has shared his thoughts on Roman Reigns ahead of WWE Clash in Italy, stating he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Taking place on May 31, WWE Clash in Italy sees Roman Reigns defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combeat match.

Speaking on ESPN SportsCenter, Fatu made his intentions at WWE Clash in Italy quite clear, stating:

“Man, the only difference is we’re doing the rematch, tapping in, following the code of the Bloodline rules, and I’m definitely walking out, this time, Heavyweight Champion.”

With the match being an “anything goes” encounter, with no disqualification very much in effect, Fatu would explain how he prepares, saying:

“This is the thing about Tribal Combat, you can’t really prepare for a sticky situation like this.

“When it comes to our Bloodline, when it comes to our culture, when it comes to our family, we are the only ones that are able to go within the Tribal Combat and do what we do at such a high level, with such great stakes.”

WWE Clash in Italy marks the first time that a PLE has run in the country, with Fatu sharing his thoughts on the significance of his involvement at the event, explaining:

“You know what, if we could pull the curtain back just a little bit, besides everything else, it’s an honor and I wouldn’t have it no other way.

“Since I’ve been here in WWE, there have been a lot of first times that I’ve been a part of.

“For us to go, for the very first time, a PLE in Italy, against one of the greatest of all time, Roman Reigns, man, it doesn’t get much better than Clash in Italy.”

Triple H has previously reflected on the bond between the Bloodline family members, noting that there are “no higher stakes” than their upcoming match.

A New World Heavyweight Champion At WWE Clash In Italy?

Jacob Fatu could be on the cusp of his own greatness in WWE, with the former United States Champion now competing for a world championship.

Signing with WWE in April 2024, Fatu would be tied into the Bloodline story, being the son of Tama (The Tonga Kid), and becoming Tag Team Champion with Tama Tonga (the son of Haku) in August of that year.

Breaking away from the Bloodline/The MFTs saw Fatu on his own path, although his relationship with his Bloodline brethren is still apparent, as can be clearly seen in his current feud with Roman Reigns.

Going into Clash in Italy, Fatu has shown his relentless dominance, attacking Reigns and leaving The OTC in a vulnerable position over past weeks, although this doesn’t necessarily give an indication of the direction at the upcoming PLE.

Reigns has competed in two Tribal Combat matches to date, defeating Jey Uso at SummerSlam in 2023 and seeing a victory over Solo Sikoa on the Netflix premiere of Raw in January of last year. The first match saw Reigns retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the title of Tribal Chief, while the latter saw The OTC regain the ceremonial Ula Fala and Paul Heyman as his Wiseman.

It was previously reported that Reigns isn’t scheduled for Clash of Champions on June 27, being removed from a number of advertised WWE Raw appearances, perhaps suggesting that a change could be in the future.

Of course, Reigns could just be set to miss these shows regardless, only time will tell.
