Jacob Fatu is set to face a former WWE star in a title match at the MLW War Chamber tapings.
At MLW Blood & Thunder in January, John Hennigan, better known as John Morrison, defeated Davey Richards to become MLW Openweight Champion.
Major League Wrestling has announced that Hennigan will defend the title against former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu at MLW War Chamber on Thursday, April 6. The event will take place at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City.
This meeting will mark the first time that Hennigan and Fatu have gone one-on-one in singles competition. The two men have crossed paths before, facing in a triple threat match for independent promotion All Pro Wrestling in 2018.
Jacob Fatu is a former MLW World Heavyweight Champion, but he has never held the National Openweight Championship.
This bout joins a lineup that also includes Taya Valkyrie defending the MLW Women’s Featherweight Championship against Delmi Exo and Mandy Leon making her MLW debut.
As previously reported, the current home of MLW Underground, REELZ has released a statement on the future of the show last week.
