There has been a major update on the reported legitimate injury to WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill.
On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Jade Cargill was shown taken out backstage during Bianca Belair’s United States Championship Tournament match against Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport.
The angle saw Jade be pulled from both the United States Championship Tournament, as well as the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, being replaced with Bayley.
Following the show, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported a legitimate injury to Jade, with the angle reportedly being used as a cover for her legitimate injury, which would keep her out of action for at least 3 months.
However, in an update from PWInsider, multiple sources in WWE have confirmed that the reports of Jade being legitimately injured are ‘100% incorrect’.
PWInsider was told that the attack angle on Cargill on SmackDown was a storyline, with the list of injuries being announced to put over the severity of the attack, as well as set the stage for a future storyline.
We will provide any updates on Jade’s status as they become available.
