In the opening match of the March 11, 2020 edition of AEW: Dynamite, Cody wrestled Ortiz of the Inner Circle. About a minute into the match, Jake Roberts made his way down to the ring.
He wasn’t alone. Lance Archer came with him.
They sat ringside and watched the Cody and Ortiz match. The announcers tried to put him over as a superstar from Japan. The crowd had a great reaction chanting Holy S-word.

Lance Archer is a former NJPW Tag Team Champion. He’s also held the NJPW US Championship.
He also spent a lot of time in TNA Wrestling and had a failed run in WWE.
He really found himself in New Japan and will be a great addition to AEW. It will be interesting to see how AEW uses him.

Cody love to put others over, but at some point, he has to come out on top or the shine of beating him will eventually wear off. However, Archer needs to win his first feud.
