Former NXT UK Tag Team Champions Drake & Gibson have teased their departures from NXT.
On Tuesday’s episode, the duo, who appear to have dropped their first names and tag-team name, were defeated by Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde in tag team action.
In a backstage interview segment, Drake & Gibson stated that fans will not be seeing them around NXT anymore.
Drake has since taken to Twitter with a photo of his Performance Center locker, writing:
Thank you @WWE
The former Grizzled Young Veterans have been teaming together in WWE since 2018, and began regularly appearing for the US NXT brand in late 2020.
The team’s departure seems to be storyline, and has led some fans to speculate that the duo are being called up to the main roster. It is worth noting that the tease might just be to introduce a more drastic name change, following Vince McMahon’s recent memo about not wanting wrestlers to use ring names they had before joining the company.
